welcome to another “in-between” email bulletin of Manchester Climate

On Sunday March 15th, there is a different kind of film premiere. The Age
of Stupid is a documentary from the future, narrated by Pete
Postlethwaite. It is a real grass-roots film, and it's being launched
simultaneously across the UK.
The Manchester showing is at the Lowry Vue, Salford. For information on

taking place on Monday March 2, 2009 in Washington, D.C.

There will be a “Low Carbon Summit” in London in the first week in March
(that's this week), according to a speech given by Peter Mandelson last
week. Watch this space

Envirolink Northwest says that organisations who struggle with the
application form for the Department of Energy and Climate Change can get
help from them. The scheme aims to promote the efficient use of
biomass for energy by encouraging the early deployment of biomass-fuelled
heat. Up to 40% of installation costs (to a £500,000 ceiling) are
available.

The Community Energy Saving Programme: targeting, delivery model,scoring
and measures
* The Heat and Energy Saving Strategy: the longer-term ambition, including
the whole-house approach, future delivery models, and community engagement
* The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target: 20% increase in the overall
target and proposed new measures
